from fb .From what we can see online, this is NOT TRUE. There has been a death of a man with the same name in a crash in Thailand, but it's not this Jase. So stop spreading these horrible rumours and have a bit of respect.

Sadly it's true ., "Mr Jason Richards has lost his battle with cancer and quietly passed away this morning". and that came about twenty five minutes ago from the horses mouth (Andy Booth) he will be sadly missed! "Another racing legend has been lost but will never be forgotten"

V8 Supercar driver Jason Richards is alive and relatively well, despite news flooding social networking websites of his passing following his battle with cancer. The death notice many V8 Supercar fans awoke to this morning put down as a simple case of mistaken identity.

It would appear the initial rumours were correct and he passed away last night after suffering a stroke.

He was recently told by doctors that Xmas was an optimistic time frame.

"Kiwi V8 Supercars driver Jason Richards has lost his battle with cancer.

The 35-year-old passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Charlotte at his home last night, Radio Sport reports.

He was diagnosed with adrenocortical carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, in November 2010.

A memorial service to honour Richards will be held at Sandown in the coming weeks. "

Unfortunately it is true also confirmed by V8supercars and Brad jones racing. He will be missed by everyone in the racing community. RIP Jase you fought the toughest race of them all but this time the track won. Deepest sympathies to Charlotte and the girls and all the family
