Hate when people in the industry, wreckers, parts sales, reps etc say yep, I'll call you back (with a price/product/etc) and the never do! Pi$$es me off when you have to ring back and get the old "Oh, yeah, I was just gunna call you". No you friggen' weren't! What do you do! You often rely on these people and can't get stuck into them but it gets on your goat all the same.
Frustrated.
Fish.

haha, its a pet peeve of mine too, Luckily the place i goto are nice and proactive as i buy so much stuff from them!, I find if youknow them on a first name bases and they know you on that same first name bases, they are more loyal to you, but it only really works with decent parts companies that dont change employees every 5 minutes ( otherwise i have to battle with them to get my discounts :P )

Or how about kicking your heels whilst someone is working on your car well away from home. You have to get lost for a while and tell them to give you a ring as soon as it is ready - and they don't.

You ring them back hours later and they inform you it is ready.

And not even a sorry we forgot to call you

firm i used to work for dealt solely for 50 odd years with steel and tube no other firm got a look in,they pissed them around once to often ,went from being steel and tubes 2nd biggest customer to nothing over night, there was constant phone calls from them, their rep calling in all the time, got them nowhere sometimes enough is enough theres plenty of other firms that will value you as a customer

i get p!$$ed off when i drop the car in for work and i say "call me if theres any issues" so then i go to pick the car up at the end of the day and they say "oh yeah there are some problems, what do you want us to do ! it'll have to be in over night" AAAARRRRGGGGHHH ! THATS WHAT THE *&&^$uy* PHONE IS FOR YA MUPPET

also when you book a car in for the morning because you NEED it in the afternoon.so you ring them at 1 or 2 and theyve only just started it! AAAARRRGGGHH!

trogedon, Feb 6, 2:23pm
Sometimes its a case of big men scared of the telephone (think how their personal lives are!!). I don't rely on businesses to call me back - after the appointed time for the call I just call them.

While there is no excuse for bad service, getting hold of people is equally frustrating for businesses. It's not that uncommon for a client to leave three contact numbers with you and they are still not contactable on any of them, and even if you do get through on the last number you try with a list of WOF jobs or other repairs/service items that need doing you get the "Oh really, I'll have to talk to hubby about that" speech, which further wastes OUR time.

You'd be equally surprised at the amount of people that book for 8am because the cars DESPERATELY needed after lunch, they show up at 9:15 with no apology, still expecting the work to be completed by lunchtime.
So you pull the guy off the job he has already started for client #2 becauseclient #1 showed up late and rejig things. With no contact in between client #1 rings you or casually wanders in at 2:45 or even later asking if the cars ready! If they'd showed some consideration they would have either showed up on time or else informed us that it wasn't required that urgently, and client #2's car could have been done and out the door earlier.

Tell me about it, useless mechanics. Then you get the oppsite sort that text you when its done, great for when your at work and too busy talk on the phone. Or you drop it in monday oh it will be done friday (on a boat), then it comes friday they start it. Oh we need this part, now you will have to wait another few days!

fordcrzy, Feb 6, 5:33pm
i know what you mean frank but when you book it in for "any day this week as long as it's done before lunch time" then find out that your still waiting for the fricken car at 5.30pm F***S me off hugely.( i wonder if they'll pay the $45 cab charge for the wife and kids as they had no car in the afternoon. )

1fordluva, Feb 6, 5:37pm
Sorry fish, hope you were not waiting for me to get back to you about that primera ecu lol

franc123, Feb 6, 6:24pm
In other words they haven't listened to a word that mechanic/receptionist has said to them!

mellisa2000, Mar 19, 7:44am
ARRRGH! That's what this whole thing is about.!
Nah, job done now.
Franc hit the nail on the head, people need car by xx:xx then arrive late, want it early, then come back at 3:45 etc. Just a rant so hopefully some of the people who reckon "I'll get back to ya mate" take note. I actually make a point of saying to the person, "yeah that'd be great, Please do". SOMETIMES works.
