I recently did a dial/dash swap in a 98 starlet to one with a rev counter. I followed the wrong wiring guide and earthed the pulse input. I then put the pulse wire where it was meant to go and the needle doesnt move.
There is power to the the tacho as the needle becomes harder to move when the car is on.
Have i blown it up! Is there any way to repair it if i have!

They are getting a bit hard to find even in wreckers. Will probably have to wait for another glanza dash to turn up on here or for someone else to start wrecking one.

I have tried 2 dashes and both rev counters aren't working so i think something mustn't be getting the right input. I completely removed the rev counter from the dash to test it and make sure that i had the right wiring. Everything else works perfectly on the dash aside from the tacho. I am getting the signal pulse from the ig- in the diagnostic port and i know it works as i have tried it with a digital rev counter.
This thing has me stumped.

Get a big silver tacho with a shift light and use self tapping screws to hold it onto the dash in a way that the silver constantly reflects off the windscreen into your eyes. Solved.

Imagine sconing your noggin on that tacho in a bif. If you survived you would have a cool impression on your face! Wonder how many get maimed by such fluff!

I doubt most of the people who would buy "monsta tacks" would even mount them properly. I can just imagine someone with an impression of a rev counter imprinted onto their face
