is the visco fan locking in properly!

Motor model! What do you mean by under load!

some auto's have their cooling pipes almost blocking the bottom radiator outlet

if its a kzn130 model, this has the radiator issue surfs are renowned for the viscous fan coupling not being both adjusted correctly and not having enough fluid inside them.
a good google search will find you a step by step instuctions on how to remedy both these problems.
other things you can do to help is fit a large auto trans cooler, so less trans heat gets in the radiator, put a product called 'water wetter' in the radiator (popular with stock car owners), use LESS anti freeze in your coolant mix - antifreeze actually lessens the cooling properties of water, though it does prevent corrosion & freezing, and slightly raise boiling point, you're still better off with less of it. eg 20-30%

If it's getting hot under load, and presumably with a bit of speed on then it won't be the fan. Air flow exceeds the fans effect by the time you are up to about twenty Km/h.
Does it blow black smoke under load! If it has had the diesel pump adjusted to give more fuel for power then it may be over adjusted, or, more specificly, be too far adjusted for that timing. To keep the heat down under load you need to either advance the timing a little or back off the fuel injection. This is assuming that the truck has had the pump "tweaked".
You could pull the frost plugs out and clean in the bottom of the water galleries too. They fill up with sludge if the cooling system has been neglected at some stage in it's life.

well fixing the fan sure fixed my surf's heat problems when towing loads (eg 2000kg on a trailer up long steep hills) and the wind speed off the fan is a hell of a lot higher than 20kph

common problem on these is the harmonic ballancer main crank pully splits and then the crank rotatates while the belts hardly move spinning loose on the crank shaft.

r15 X 2 hes on to it, just had the the same problems. New head, rad ( 4 core), water pump, themostat (71c). still getting hot when going up hills / towing race car. Re oiled the viscous fan hub problem fixed. Have a look at the front of a surf they just cant get the air flow to the rad but fixing the fan forces ( sucks ) the air in.

thanks every one 4 your help itis a 2l-te it goes bloodly well allmost ready 2 give up still drivein it 2 work and back every day but as soon as i feed it the gas gets hot. whats it worth! 91 facelift ssr 290 kms
Radiator (shop clean) & force flush the block BEFORE the radiator goes back in. Best results are pull the radiator AFTER a chemical flush, then take it to a shop for a strip & clean & do the block while the rad is away.
Check & clean cooling hose's for . Heaters/ turbo cooling (rubber & steel)/ injector pump thermostat pipe (if fitted to your model), Take them off & make sure they are clean before refitting. Air con radiator grills/fins Auto cooler grills/fins Radiator Fan /fans/ viscous fan hub should be heavy to turn when cold

If the block wasn't cleaned properly when you replaced the radiator, then it will have pulled all the crud from the block.
Doing a cooling system overhaul REALLY needs to be a full job done. When was the cam belt done last!

cam belt water pump done only 2000 kms ago

YES . but was the block flushed properly & other hoses checked internally.

whats the best flush
mrfxit,

Prettymuch any branded bottle. It's how it's used & the strip & hose flush after that, that will help. The flush fluid is only to loosen the crud.

take the radiator out & look into the bottom pipe , you'll see it almost blocked off by the auto fluid pipes, p.o.s. design, fit a manual radiator & an external auto fluid cooler.
also watch for airlocks youactually have to bleed the air out of the system in the heater hoses at the highest point.poor design also

i have noticed it gets hot when turbo workin

As per Mr fixit, he's on the money. Just from experience, we had one of these that had a similar issue. we done alot of remedial work on block & pipes etc. Turned out the Air cond radiator & water radiatorhad been water blasted by some clown and bent all the fins (badly) so very limited air flow through radiator. Have alook and make sure these are not damaged (or full of mud if used off road alot) but heed Mrfixit's comments as they are pretty much what our mechanic stated. Cheers, hope you get it sorted

Ta ruaphu . From personal experence & following others prblems, the biggest problems the 2L-T series has is cooling. BUT If the cooling systen is working correctly, then they DON'T give any real problems.
Mine WAS using some water (only enough to be noticed) when I first got it (88 Surf), but I ended up disconnecting the rear passengers heater unit (between the front seats) & using a modded length of hard wire to clean all the other water pipes (turbo cooling & injector thermostst pipes). I KNOW that IF I have cooling issues that I simply have to do the WHOLE cleaning job from start to finish. No point in half measures.
Seeing as someone had totally stuffed my aircon unit before I got the truck. well .yep out with that radiator as well

cleaned out cooling with flush, also took off hoses cleaned .a better but still doing it.when it gets hot it blows water out into over flow but no pressure under caphelp im sick of it

Hmmm, Has anyone adjusted the timing or the or fuel delivery on the injector pump! seems odd you've done everything cooling wise and it still over heats! If the injecton pump has been played with this will cause issues if incrrectly set up, get it sorted by a decent specialist diesel mechanic. How long before it gets excessively hot! Being an import, have you checked the EGR valve! this recycles a proportion exhaust gases back into the inlet for emissions BS. These have been known to jamming slightly open due to carbon build up and creating issues.
