Can anyone please help me with air tool fittings!

Not exactly motoring I know, but I have a compressor and spray gun with 'nitto' style fittings and I have just been given a staple gun that has a much smaller fitting on the end that I would want to plug into my air hose. What I want to know is whether there is an adaptor available to join the two bits that don't fit together, and if so, where would I get one! Or is there another solution! thanks :)

You could probably make an adapter but its easier to just change the fitting.
Go to Repco or supercheap, they'll have what you want.

or try shop like ash air, just bring the gun and hose if possible. it makes lot easier. good luck

Most fittings in NZ are Aro style, it pays to go with those for ease of use if you buy or borrow something. That's probably what the smaller fittings are.

I brought a multi pack from Bunnings then just swap around when I need to.

Aro couplings are a NZ fitting, Nitto are Aussie, most places like supercheap, bunnings and the like have Nitto's on their air tools. Nitto fittings are starting to flood the market something fierce, personally i like the Aro couplings as i reckon they are more robust and last for years and years

Nittos generally have a larger bore than aro's, less constriction in the coupling.
Bit dubious about the Nitto's, they seem to be a weaker system for coupling - but never seen one blow under pressure whereas I know Aro's can wear and leak and sometimes have to be replaced due to no longer able to do the job
OP you can buy an Aro female with a male thread which you can fit a Nitto male with a female thread ie 2 fittings screwed into each other, that will plug into the end of your Nitto hose and allow you to use your Aro stapler, both available at supercheap, total cost less than $8

yep most auto and tool shops have the adaption packs or single adapter, they are not costly to buy but take the gear with you and show them, if they know what they are doing a five minute fix, if your buying airtools buy a pack of various adapters its cheaper in the long run
