The red one!Its the shift lock release - lets you shift out of park if the brake interlock fails for some reason.

As vtec said, its a shift lock release.
On top of the reason he said, its also handy if you're working on the interior and need to take it out of Park without the need to have the key in the ignition to avoid hearing that annoying 'beep beep bepp.':)

You're not supposed to use it all the time or anything.

Most cars have one, on my Nissan you need to slot the ignition key in before it'll work which I guess is a sensible extra step.
