My advice, having watched these kind of exchanges with interest over time is (1) Don't try anything smart or follow anyone's daft advice to pull some kind of smart alec stunt (2) Follow Biker 69's advice, carefully, he knows his stuff. (3) Be straight as you obviously intend to be, pulling fast ones will get you in the end.Cheers and good luck

I think the bike should stay impounded because I dont want to share the road with morons like biker B.
To get it back, Biker A tells plod that its his bike (still regod in his name) and Biker B was taking it for a test ride with the intention of buying it. That should work.
Cheers Stevo

Perhaps 'Illusion' should stop having illusions. and stop making assumptions!

I am still doing those 'years and years' on a daily basis !

If you follow the process and have legitimate reason for an impounded vehicle to be released from impoundment the vehicle is released.

We all have opinions, you just have to be careful when you put them in writing on a public message board, because sometimes our opinions are incorrect.

It's certainly leaves the door open to abuse, however I'd be keen to see some numbers on people claiming to have been innocent and their car was unfairly impounded. Impossible to get those numbers of course (because many will never lodge an appeal) but sure would make some interesting reading.
I have have no issue with impoundment when they're unlicensed etc. Screw 'em. But I think the driver behavior ones are the ones likely to be contentious and should have a more robust process to be followed.

Yep, there certainly are some problems with what is happening on our roads from an enforcement perspective. Its all very well for all of the ones that feel that they are goody two shoes on the road and always drive within the confines of the law in the mistaken belief that they will not become a victim of the system and the way it presently works, until one day they are stopped (as I was) and accused of an offence that they have not committed. If you do not know the system, its processes, and how to combat that system and its processes you are henceforth hung drawn and quartered . for an offence that you have not committed !
