to replace oil pump on a diesel motor! mine( the indicator light) seems to take longer to go off than it did.

Have you recently changed the oil filter! If it requires an anti drain back valve and your filter doesn't have one then it will take a while (5 seconds or so) for oil pressure to come up.

actually am igornant on this pump topic, so excuse me if i sound thick, i know it takes longer to go off after changing oil filter.

have got a repco filter, didn't know some filters have anti drain back valves.
