IN NEED OF HELP PLEASE

z_ashford, Feb 13, 11:19am
So i have a MAZDA MPVvan that is not working for some reason.
It was working fine every other day up until yesterday after-noon when i was on my way to my mates and it died on me.
It started and everything and then when i went to take off it just died. So of course the first thing i thought of was i had ran out of gas but in my case no it was not the gas as it has gas in it.

You are going to need to tell us the year, model and what engine it has in it, as well as describe with some detail what sort of noises/sounds etc you felt/heard when it actually died if you want any chance of someot may be.
If you also post your location, somebody may be able to recommend a good local mechanic for you.

when i would start the van it would make a noise like metal rubbing together but as for this one time it never made the metal rubbing sound when i started it and when i took off i got 5 house's down the road from my own and that's when the van died on me it never made any noise's or sound's and i never felt or heard anything as will.
Um the van is a MAZDA MPV EFINI 1994 and i am living in NAPIER thank you for the reply

Possibly broken the cam belt on the front of the motor, is it a 4cylinder or V6! Or even diesel! If its a 4 Cylinder it could also be the module in the distributor or the computer. Do you have any mechanical knowhow! If so you could check the cam belt by undoing the bolts on the front cover of the engine and seeing if the belt turns while someone tries to start it. Not such an easy job to check on the V6 from memory.
