I just wanted to pop in and say thank you to everyone that gave/offered advice on my wanting to buy my first bike.

I got him, yes its a him i can't explain it' We've bonded, my block and neighbours must be sick to death of me Up and down round and round, feeling every bump, whisp of wind and noticing how bad people really drive in cars.So lazy.I love being alert and watching for constant changes.

So Sebastion is a Kawasaki GPX 250, black with red flame detailing. Perfect fit my feet are comfortable on the ground and the controls i'm sure secretly designed for a girl, stepped clutch and brake levers, upright seating position. Now to explore my abilities and hone my new passion. SASS i think i will be joining you in the next few weeks.Once again thank you everyone.I look forward to one day riding with you all :)

Jump on to Kiwibiker if you haven't already, stay safe and keep the beast rubber side down. Good choice for a small bike

Do you take him to bed with youor get up to check on him ., dont worry the novelty soon wears off . Remember that TV program where that guy used to wank over cars !

Try to get some experiance riding a dirt bike in the slipperiest conditions you can manage. it does wonders for your bike handling and correcting skills.
Seriously, one hour of falling off in the mud will teach you more than years of riding on the road.

If you can borrow a dirt bike, practice emergency stops with the wheels locked up, get shown how and practice doing "doughnuts", learn how to correct from a "high-side" when exiting a doughnut, learn to do doughnuts with your feet on the pegs, learn to lay the bike down and roll off the back of it without getting your leg caught under it or getting yourself hurt.
Practice till all these skills are a matter of reflex and you will enjoy many years of bike riding.
