I bought a set of these back in the day for my KP61 Starlet, I though "yeah my cars safe now from thieves! haha no more worrying about my car getting broken into", that was until my mate heated up a broken bic pen and pushed it into the lock, waited 20 seconds for it to cool, then it opened! I could not believe it. I bet you don't hear about that alot but the thieves will know this trick so stay away.

That myth has been tested. and proven to be fake.
[edit] The people that created that myth obviously have no idea how a lock works. plus most locks has a 'drain' on the underside of it, this alone would make that myth fail as no air pressure could be generated
