1979 Chevette / 1976 TX Gemini doors. Can anyone let me know if the doors on these are the same. Looking at photos online they both appear to have the same main body shell with different front panels. Basically we can get all the door weather strips for a TX gemini ( ex Aussie) and want to use them on a chevette. Finding new chevette weatherstrips is a bit harder.(ex UK ,pay pal etc)

You may be right. it does seem very logical.
If the savings is worth it, try it and let us know.

The basic floorpans are the same, so from vague memory when I sold new parts for both models many moons ago when at a Holden dealer many parts interchanged. In my current job I am sure I have sold 4 door Gemini window weatherstrips for a 4 door Chevette.

From memory, and the memory is not 100% there, I think that the doors are the same but the Striker mechanism is different. That is the one thing that I would check as the Gemini had a lot of Australian content.

The Gemini is a Japanese Isuzu. The Chevette is a English bucket, then again they might be the same.

Your local Holden Dealer might be able to get the weather strips. They are GM and might have some new old stock.

Doubt it - most weatherstrips were obsolete many years ago.many current Holden parts people wouldnt even know what a chevette is.parts for these were only able to be looked up in partsbook or microfilm, not in the currently used system. Many dealerships have lost or dumped the old books. I am working on getting as many old parts books as I can from the local dealer.

Was after a game of Stockcar soccer we had at Eastern States a few years back. We did it again with a Suzuki van a year later but just wasnt the same, Too light and it ended when one of the Stockcars got stuck on top of it hahahaha, Least the Chevette had some "meat" on it
