Its vague but how else would she get charged with manslaughter and not be in the car

moosie_21, Jan 2, 8:49am
Just a paper charge by the police. She wasn't in control of the car, how could she be charged with manslaughter! Sure her teenagers weren't strapped in, but that's the drivers responsibility, not hers, even if they are her kids, and we all know what teenagers are like. They'll give her 200 hours community service on some watered-down charge and nail the driver (hopefully). The death of 2 children is sentence enough. The justice system in this country continues to confuse and astound me.

Sounds like confusion about who was driving, so they'll charge both until it's sorted.

It seems the mother was in one of the other vehicles that went straight past the wreckage without stopping.
I really didn't want to believe that.

vtecintegra, Jan 2, 9:56am
There were two cars allegedly racing. The drivers of both will be charged.

thats the way i read it to hence the "holy crap" people do stupid things but i cant imagine a mother doing that

smac, Jan 2, 10:06am
Huh, must be another article on this! Not seeing any of that in that link.

3tomany, Jan 2, 10:12am
yea i have read it several times and it seems to suggest the mother was in the other car racing but doesnt actualy say as much. a very vague article so we better not hang her yet but doesnt look good
