I must say I am highly impressed brought mine back in 2006 for 4500. 1800 gdi tiptronic. Blah Blah. Never had an issue with her. Brilliant car. I am still loving her after all this time!

we have one also only problem we had was the intake manifold carbonizing up I fixed this myself $15

sprayed throttle body cleaner into the intake manifold to break up the carbon, lucky our car had only done 80000kms so it wasnt too bad, plus mitsh here in chch had done it before we bought the car at 40000kms,.
now i spray the cleaner into the throttle body for 5-10 seconds every 10000kms, car runs great idles smooth at lights "papariccardo yes it is economical " alot cheaper to run than my V8

it burns off in the combuston chamber, years ago my father ( a grade mechanic ) would decarbonize carby engines by squirting either brake fluid or water down the carb inlet, this would be done every 10-15000 miles.

Brokebloke, sounds like good preventative maintenance. Does anyone know how to clean out a heavily carboned up manifold without removing!
