gunhand, Feb 14, 7:49pm
The kids stopping rides lol, whats the back lol. actually I like to ride at the back of a pack and not get into all the racing and crap that starts happening in a group of hyped up males.

gunhand, Feb 15, 9:45am
Two x 6 one x 9. Wouldnt worry about people watching you ride they should be worring about themselves and there abilitys not others.

The Kiwibiker forum is well worth a browse for newby bikers, even if the only thread that you read is this one here.

http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/52318-50-survival-tips-Read-em-now!

Whilst here I will add to the 50 suggestions with one that I didn??

gunhand, Feb 15, 7:08pm
Yea its busy enough. The wife loves the bike but we dont get out as much as we should. The kids are getting to the age where there feet sit comfortably on the pillion pegs so wont be long till they can come with me but only one at a time LOL.
As for the staggered riding postition i read somewhere where it wasnt recomended. Can not remember why now. I have a mate who likse to ride real close and right in my blind spot so I try to ride behind him.
But hopefully I get out for a spin in the next week or so.

gilligan2, Feb 15, 7:20pm
Ill go for a ride with you

gunhand, Feb 15, 7:33pm
Side car! eeerrrrNO LOL.Oh well the kids will be all gone in 10 years ( they better be) so hopefully wont beto old to enjoy bikes or god forbid a trike.

http://www.marchhare.co.nz/index.html. MARCH HARE RALLY.MARCH 4th to 6th.COMMON EVERYONE, BE THERE!

gunhand, Feb 17, 7:58pm
I would hope not LOL, have you been out this week its been excellent weather for it.

gunhand, Feb 17, 8:10pm
Thats good to here. Are you still on restricted or a full licence and are you going to step up to something bigger at all. Mind you anything over 600cc is getting and expensive option with the rego prices now.

gunhand, Feb 18, 11:29am
Speeding is controlled by the right wrist not the bike lol. Although some bikes make it easy to speed. But theres more reasons to get a bigger bike than just speed. safety comes to mind as does lack of power many 250s have which creates problems. Hills head winds and gear all slow an allready slow 250 so a bit more power is good. Ive been there done that. Plus having to rev the ring out of them to get anywhere dosent do anything for me either.

berg, Feb 18, 4:42pm
Yay. Mrs Berg's ER6N came home today looking all lovely and mint. Had lots of new shiney bits fitted and all ready to ride again

gunhand, Feb 18, 4:44pm
Ready to ride again! that sounds like it was broken.

gunhand, Feb 18, 5:14pm
Which my wife would learn to ride as well. Not that I mind having a pillion. Although she falls asleep most of the time.

gunhand, Feb 18, 5:59pm
No, she is one of the best pillions ive ever had. sits there dosnt freak out or try to lean or control the bike (like some) at all. Hardly no shes there. Untill I do something that she thought was unsafe. Once after riding 300km I took my hands off the bars to sit upright for a second, gee that didnt go down well at all. Hard to explain it wasnt that unsafe and Moto GP guys ride with there hands off after winning and so fourth and dont fall off lol. Some bikes you can some you cant and its not something I do in traffic etc.

berg, Feb 18, 7:44pm
Twas not a good Wgtn Anniversary weekend.
The ER had a drop on a huge patch of diesel just outside Havelock in the South Island. Fortunatly just a low side but enough to need a new tank, bars, side cover, radiator shroud and other minor bits. Mrs Berg ok but ruined the weekend a bit. If I ever catch up with the 4x4 that was leaking (we saw them) look out!

gunhand, Feb 18, 8:00pm
Geez berg not good. lucky it wasnt a fast sweeper or something, but I imagine you have been through all the "what ifs". Glad your all ok. Plastic and steel can be fixed or replaced but a life can not.Sorry your SI trip had that happen to you. Get a rego at all.

berg, Feb 19, 1:07pm
No rego unfortunately. We were lucky as it was only a 70kph downhill stretch and we were both doing less than 60kph.
Not a great feeling watching Mrs Berg go down then wham and I'm having my own moment. All the gear, all the time was a huge saver and the main reason why she suffered so little injury.
We are both philosophical about it and know it happens. Just got to get back on and carry on.

You all got more money than sense, registration fees are the end for the motorcycle. But I've found a way around it, trainer wheels and register as a car.
