Didn't we have this conversation earlier! Eb efi coon, perfect & still ford, tons of torque for pulling the mobile brick around
NZTools,
Jan 3, 5:53am
It has the aerodynamics of a brick. A repower isnt going to gain you much economy, as it is still going to take x amount of hp to push it along at 100kph, and x amount of hp is always going to take y amount of fuel to create. Also it is going to take a lot of fuel savings to pay for the conversion and cert. Realisticly, how many k's would you expect to do in a year anyway.

yep another dude has the same problem as me,i didnt know it was this bad. $400 or something on gas has confirmed it haha

im thinking of changing diff gears. it screams its nuts off at 100ks.screams!no rev counter but it wouldnt be pretty

if i got good fuel economy i would take it away a lot. keen to do the south island.

Wellington to Hamilton Chev pickup loaded down with stuff and towing an 18 ft caravan around $1100 return. But it is only once a year for the bigger trip and love the power of the 350.

HP got stuff all to do with it. TORQUE is what you need It's never going to go anywhere fast, so may as well get there with something that doesn't really care about weight regardless of empty or full

Well nooo, a better designed more efficient donk is gonna do the same power with less fuel. Otherwise my mini should be using less fuel than my Astra, and I can assure you that isn't the case!
fordkiwi27,

Many moons ago I had an HZ Holden panelvan with a 202. I used to get 14mpg. I had it tuned and then I got 17 mpg. 14 Lper 100km.

cresta diff heads will be pretty rare these days!. might just find a complete 275 9 inch diff and change the yoke
fordkiwi27,
Jan 3, 7:05am

pb or pc cresta crownwheel and pinion is the go . from memory they are different either the pc or pb has a longer pinion where driveshaft bolts on.butif your camper has the big diff in iti dont think cresta fits in them. . there was a 9inch for a cf on tm a short time ago.
