read somewhere that wrong gaps on sparkplugs affect timing and can wreck coil.interested in replies.also what is 1.1 mm in thou.thanks

Yup they will affect your engine performance, they need to be the gapped correctly depending on the sort of engine.

In this day and age at 6 skins per plug you are wasting your time fiddling around with them as plugs develop more faults than simply an enlarged gap . just replace the things !
