Cheaper to run than my V8 though.Looking for something thats more effiecient to run, I only do about 50kms a week.

Personally I'd be looking for a 3SGE instead of a 5SFE

Im just wondering what peoples opinon of that car is! Kms too high! Motors crap out! Gearboxes are crap etc!
cmjury1,
Jan 6, 7:04am
well i wouldnt worry about the kms if its been well looked after, i had a honda with high kms that was well looked after and went like a dream

It looks pretty well cared for - and the fact they have receipts for the work done is reassuring

I havn't driven that one but had a fair bit of experience with the previous shape in manual form without the 4WS. That experience was very good, the vehicle was nice to drive, pretty good on fuel for what it was and didn't give any trouble.

For the money its a pretty good buy, given that all the important stuff has been replaced etc.
Nothing wrong with the 5SFE, as long as you aren't planning on winning any stop light races etc.

If you only do 50km a week why would you even give a rat's bum about economy!
msigg,
Jan 6, 8:42am
Looks good and tidy $500 bucks off that price would be nice. its a toyota it will go forever, if looked after.

My thoughts as well, I'd rather drive the V8, it would be using less than $20.00 fuel per week if you are only doing 50km per week, how much do you hope to save by getting another car! are you selling the V8! if not the extra maintenance and rego costs etc will outstrip any savings
hydroman08,

Yep selling the v8. The V8 (old jappa one) isnt economical at all around town.Much more than $20. And since its just me I only need something small anyway.

Fair enough, in that case the Celica could be a good buy and looks in pretty good nick

the only downside to the kms is the resale value but if yourlooking tokeep iffor a while dont worry about that
toyotas go forever at that many kms i would be having a look at the bolsterson the drivers seat, those seats are awesomebut eventually the foam gives way to steel rod and then they suck, stillnot abig or expensive job to replace

If you're looking for fuel economy the 5sfe is pretty average. Should be better than an auto however. I have a Celica for 4 years now and have never looked back!

Does look tidy, but they're asking way too much for a car that's done 310,000kms, regardless of how well it's been looked after.
Would recommend attempting to knock at least $500-$700 off that price.
foxdonut,

Yeah, and they should throw in a platinum coated Lamborghini LP670-4 SuperVeloce, a lifetime supply of tires and an Airbus 380 and then it'd be a fair price aye.

If it all checks out OK it may be good buying, its usually better to pay $3K+ for something thats clearly been treated properly and maintained than $2K for a scruffy dog with a whole pile of question marks surrounding it.

Agreed. There have been some here in Aucks that have gone for near $2k with 200 - 250km on them. Certainly a nice car with good spec though.
