Rumours - A message from Tony Roberts and Chris Watson
Since the inception of Hampton Downs, there have been many rumours circulating about the venue. We expected the knockers, and there have been many, but latterly the number of erroneous rumours has become tiresome.
Just to set the record straight, Tony and Chris are still the owners of Hampton Downs, it hasn??

There were unsubstantiated rumours on here well before Christmas, "I have have it on good authority that the bank owned it/in receivership"etc. We need to flatten rumours when we can as they are generally very negative and counter-productive, especially to those who are trying to run events. The last thing we want is potential supporters pulling out because of a rumour. They have been busy over the Christmas break with more tarseal around the pits - and they are still talking to the Aussie V8 promoters.

Yes i have had a few mates tell me it was closing. I figured it was unsubstantiated rumours. Bring on the V8's!

I noticed there was work being done on the brow of the hill before the start/finish, is that to remedy the bump I've heard about!

Everything will be done - eventually, but I have no news about when the track exrtension is due to commence.it will no doubt be published on here!
The extra revenue for extensions will come from the profits generated by the extra buildings for sale, the construction of the village etc.
Certainly several drivers of faster cars hope that the notorious 'bump' is dealt to!Those of us with less powerful machinery hardly notice it.All I know is that some (planned) resurfacing has been carried out on areas of hard use such as the tighter corners.
Haven't been down since early November so have no idea of any progress other than what has been circulated.
