9 ownership changes in 3 years, Should I worry?

A car I'm currently looking at buying (Still an SR Coupe for those that followed that last thread a while back) has had 9 ownership changes in the past 3 years, along with the plates changing 3 times. There's no security owing etc according to carjam but should I be concerned that the car has changed hands so often in such a short time!

The current owner has had it for 8 months or so but many of the ones right before have only owned it for a month before the ownership changed.

Old school cars people want them think they will be mean as just cruise. Then they realise they require a bit more care so flick em on quickly. Or could be another reason. I wouldnt worry about it on an older car. Get it checked before buying

That's the plan. Mucking around with an AA inspection doesn't really seem worthwhile for an older car, as apparently they're useless anyway. I was just thinking of paying a mechanic to give it a new WoF, and offer to pay them an hours wages to spend a bit longer during the WoF looking it over.

On that note, does anyone know of any reliable mechanics in the Tauranga area, who would likely be willing to do this!

Judyk3 -now the plate changes are easy to explain -one was most likely from a normal to a personalised plate. Then the other was from personalised to a normal plate
9 ownerscould be -owner to dealer who traded the car into wholesaler to private person. -so theres three changes in fairly quick succession.
I can personally recommend you contacting the TM traderbob1120 who runs a VERY reputable workshop in Tauranga

They seem to be all about BMW, would you still recommend them for the old KE35 Corolla!

i'd be more inclined to take it to a panel beater to get it checked over for rust and chassis damage etc, of course the mechanical check is a good idea also, however body work can cost a whole load of cash
