My damned aprilia rs250 wont function properly. I need some one to tell me how to set up the power valves properly! I have the marks on the pulley and bracket all lined up where they should be but its still not right but if i adjust it out either side the power loss varies across the rpm range.

I have a full workshop manual. Have followed the instructions to the letter but it just doesn't want to rev any higher than 10,000rpm once you get into 3rd gear. Its as though the valves just aren't opening at full rpms.

gilligan--pull your zorsts off. It'll be a truck load easier to work it out when you actually see whats happening in there. Personally I do power valves by feel.
Anything else loses relivance as stuff wears.
Full out is for low throttle . Half is for half throttle and flush isfull throttle.

Yup its all sorted now. the spring on the inner pulley wasnt set up right causing the valves to close at hi rpm on the upper cylinder
