Best carby for a 245 hemi

Hey Guys, Would like opinions on a good carb for my motor. Its stock but would one day be putting a 265 in or at least working this a little when it gets a rebuild. Currently running a holley 350 would a 4 barrel be any good.

If it isn't broke, don't change it. Carbs can be a nightmare. Wait till you work the enigne then look at a new carb. Probably a 600-650 vac sec would be good. Apparently the Edelbrock carb go well on the Hemis.

have you put a spacer under the carb ! a phenalic(!) spacer may stop the heat soak which could be part of the problem.

Dont overcarb it.Its a very common mistake. A 245 or even a 265 will run better with a good 2 barrel or a very small 4 barrel. Dont go to a 600cfm Holley, you;ll struggle to get it tuned right and you'll loose performance.
If you really want the 4 barrel setup, go for the baby holley 390 cfm, more than enought airflow but because of smaller throttle bores brilliant throttle response. I used to run 265 chargers back in the late 70's and the best setup for performance was the 390 Holley, and believe me we stuffed around with heaps of things but that worked the best.

yip a 390 four barrel is as big as you need to go. but for the cost of the conversion you would be better off sticking with the 350 two barrel
