How to cover up holes when removing a spolier?

ola_bitchola1, Mar 5, 4:20pm
what permanently or temporarily if the latter ive used the small rubber bungs that you can fit in the holes or if its permanent you need to weld them up smooth them back and then repaint the boot

johnf_456, Mar 5, 4:20pm
Why was it removed!

simon081, Mar 5, 4:21pm
well don't wanna spend hardly any money just wanna half ass it

gunhand, Mar 5, 4:24pm
Duct tape, is as half arsed as i can think of.

simon081, Mar 5, 4:25pm
im not that miserable lol

johnf_456, Mar 5, 4:25pm
If you don't want to do it properly, why not just leave it the way it was. As they say do a job, do it once, do it right first time. I bet its for the "look" cool thing.

simon081, Mar 5, 4:27pm
i don't mind it would just rather have it off

johnf_456, Mar 5, 4:30pm
so why do it as cheapest as possible when it would look better left on. Least do it properly otherwise don't bother.

directorylist, Mar 5, 4:43pm
Cheap and dirty! Epoxy metal onto the back of the holes, fill, sand, paint.

Or worse JB weld and tinfoil

lookoutas, Mar 5, 4:46pm
Was gunna suggest - Put a spoiler on it.
But that's sort'v been covered.

Why buy a car with a spoiler if you don't like them!

You want a half-assed price!
2 hours to fill them properly, if everything stays non-pear shape, and there's only 4 or 5 holes. So that's 140 + 20 for material, and 250 for painting. + GST, Thats $471.50

m16d, Mar 5, 4:46pm
Just stick some chrome bolts back in the holes.

robertsons-nes, Mar 5, 4:52pm
why not just get a 2nd hand boot lid without a spoiler

miss_2_u, Mar 5, 6:56pm
If the spoiler had the brake lights on it you will need it to get a warrant, in saying that you didnt state whether it did or not, just letting you know i had this issue a few years ago

#3 - Agree.Rubber bungs. A dollar each and if you are really flash, spray paint them first.

johnf_456, Mar 5, 7:02pm
Most people would like it done properly and not a half pile job.

bjdw, Mar 5, 7:21pm
Bog. Paint.

bjdw, Mar 5, 7:23pm
Cheaper to buy a 2nd hand boot lid from a wrecker.

richardmayes, Mar 5, 7:29pm
Can of newtech, can of primer, can of colour matched paint, a sure-form file, a selection of sandpaper and a small paint brush. About a $150 DIY project, and it will probably still look like arse.

If you are taking your spoiler off because you want to improve looks, surely its worth getting a couple of quotes from panel & paint shops!

alexsmelex18, Mar 5, 7:36pm
I love the chrome bolt idea. That's pretty darn cool

bjdw, Mar 5, 7:37pm
rubba grommets. $5.

richardmayes, Mar 5, 7:42pm
Might depend on the car. There's a ricer gunmetal BMW E46 coupe running around town here in Wellington, that has got a carbon fibre spoiler mounted on the boot lid using what appear to be large stainless steel bolts. The effect is as though someone tried to build a race car using bits left over from the new deck they built out the back of the house.

tek screws!

gilligan2, Mar 6, 7:31am
Sledge hammer!

Get some high tack vinyl. Buy a can of colour match from repco. Spray vinyl. Then cut small circles out to slightly bigger size and stick over.
