haha none of them look to be in very good shape.A good base for some one looking for a project but it would need to be priced sensibly IMHO

No plates or papers. So no evidence they were ever regd in NZ.GL to new owners getting them registered.

Yep re the sensible pricing. The Val. seems like a bargin compared with the other two.

Hi Trog, tats probably the most expensive charger I have seen on trademe when you consider its condition. Now and again some quite reasonably priced chargers do come up. I have seen them lower priced than the barnfind one and all reg and wof'd for sale on trademe.

Agreed f_p - I did say "seems"

Looks like a pile of expensive molested junk to me, all of it.The Falcon coupe especially, its not even described accurately. For a start it would be '72 at the earliest, not '71, and it appears to be an XC with XA guards on it!The dash is definitely XC.

yep, its all had a real hard life. You would want stuff like that pretty cheap to be worth while doing anything with.

My guess is that the coupe is anything BUT an XC. Obvious hints that lead me to that conclusion - XA rear i.e. tail lights, rear panel. XA front guards and bonnet. Column shift - to the best of my knowledge they did not bother with a bench seated XC coupe. Either way it is a hodge podge of parts slapped together to make (roughly) a whole car. Correct me if I am wrong but the radiator support panel looks like a 6 cylinder variant too so I am guessing it was the absolute base model of whatever it was at its birth. IF (and thats a big if) it were an original GT or GS with numbers it would probably be a sensible buy but the truth is it could be anything and when all is said and done it will be no more or less than a customized Falcon coupe if someone buys it and does it up. As for the Charger - hell for that money you can do a lot better. It is no RT, just a run of the mill Charger which in perfect condition would be unlikely to fetch 30K. Interesting what people percieve values of these things to be. I can totally understand for example something like an RPO83 coupe in condition like this going for big coin - that will always have measurable value once restored but what is the real saleable value of a customized Falcon coupe of unknown origins! In my view not much more than someone is willing to pay for it and in todays market that may not be a whole lot.

Valuble,! completely rusted out ,all the hard to get bits are gone,no papers let alone reg on hold , and he' s got an attitude ! worth 2/3 of 3/8 of S.F.A.
friendly_prawn,
Jan 17, 3:23pm
so you are saying when they were originally stored there they had no value! Doubt it, back in there day they were quite sort after cars. I used to drive my bil's charger and thought I was just the bees knees. I was never a fan of the Ford coupes myself but I know plenty that used to rave about them. Maybe your just not old enough to know.

I recall him advertising that charger a while back, think he was asking 20k for it though, may have been 25k.some ridiculous price anyway.lol

Jan 17, 8:21pm
NO, they're still worth doing up - but not at that $.

I agree they were indeed desirable vehicles, but looking at the condition, they would have been fair rooted even when they went in the shed , and with no paper work you will never get them back on the road, notwithstanding the immense amount of work involved to do that !scrap metal (unfourtunatly)
