L200 4.22 diff head into L300 diff housing?

Hello fellow petrolheads, I am curently putting a Commie 3.8 and auto into a '96 L300 and will need to change diff ratio. Would like to get up to 3.5 or 3.9 but cant find anything without changing the whole diff and I really want to keep the same wheel pattern so does anyone know if a L200 head will go into a L300 housing. Any other suggestions regarding a suitable diff! Cheers

pass. ask a wrecker. I think Mitsi diffs of that era are fairly intercheangeable. Measure the diameter of the crown wheel on each and check how many bolts they have on the housing. It's a shame Mitsi don't have any useful diff codes like most other manufacturers would.

Thanks, I have done some reading on these and there is 8" and 9" mitsi diffs in the smaller stuff.

Isn't that a Ford stud pattern! try measuring up a Ford Courier diff. I changed my Hiace diff for a Commodre one as it has all the Commy running gear in it. Thinking about it afterwards, I should have used a Falcon diff so I didn't have to change front hubs to Holden.

L200 head will fit in L300 housing. they are both 10bolt. L200 ratio is 4.22 no good with commie v6 i have one in my L200 with manual T5. Best bet is a libero diff these are 8 bolt but from what ive seen these will bolt into L300 without too muc trouble. they are 3.545
