would i need to run a aftermarket computer to run aftermarket cams! or would a mines ecu run it, its for a 25det. Thanks

depends on the ecu. is it fully reprogrammable! or was it designed specifically for the mods mines made to the engine.
the only truly fully reprogrammable ecu i have found in a grey import from japan was a 1993 R32 Rb30de.

It depends on the car and how wild the cams are. Many AFM equipped cars can run aftermarket cams on stock ecu's.
Do you have an aftermarket turbo or other modifications to change your ve to need aftermarket cams!

nope just aftermarket fuel injectors, but its tuned for no fuel cuts, speed etc,

20e 20de 20dets are all reprogrammable so what i have been told, the head has been ported and polished, going for a reasonable price, i have a link g4 in the other skyline, but thats all tuned up for it,

In the end the answer is no you dont need one to run it and you may get a small gain somewhere but its going to make it run worse in another part of the rev range and basicly cancel out the gain! you really need to have it tuned to make use of the mods or its basicly a waste of time.
A Mines ECU is just a modified(chiped) factory ECU that is done in Japan for the engine setup on there fuel etc so will not be ideal here anyway especialy if you have changed anything.
Any Nissan RB ECU except the RB25DET VCT ones can be chipped then retuned to suit your mods but that will cost you $1000min to $2000max(better than $2500-$3500 for an after market ECU and tune) just remember no matter what anyone tells you. you CAN NOT tune a motor without using the correct gear, driving it on the road or putting it on a dyno as every motor is different and needs different tuning to make it perform to its potential.

Presumably it is a typo and you meant a KELFORD 272. which presumab;y by the number IS a higher spec cam. Perhaps being motoring and all you could supply the overlap, duration and inlet and exhaust opening and closing and the lift After all you DO WANT A REPLY RELEVANT TO THE CAMSHAFT= =SO PROVIDE THE CAMSHAFT DETAILS.
