We (the motoring guys) do not understand what you mean. Maybe photos would help us grasp the situation.

Mine expired last week LOL and I got pulled up by a NSW copper on the way to work today. I was going a tad too fast before 5 in the morning,,, He checked my licence label, my WOF, told me to keep my speed down and have a good day.
Good bastard!

Well, when the cop looked at mine yesterday (during a wof & reg check) he told me it was going to expire later this year - does that count!

But hold on a sec.yours is expired, so how would they have got your address!
smac,
Mar 10, 10:09am
Righto.
Oh one thing though - an address update while licensing a car does not update your driver licence address. If you move, you can license as many vehicles as you like at the new address and your driver licence reminder will go to the old one. (yes I realise irrelevant in your case cause you haven't moved, just being pedantic).

Nope. Sorry but I back my current knowledge over your memory of what happened in 2001 ;)
Yes there is a 'link' between driver licenses and vehicle ownership. However only in so much as they know which license was used as ID to complete the change of ownership. There is presently no facility in place to update the driver licence register when a new address is provided while licensing a car. Two difference registers.

I'm not offering any suggestion as to why you're wrong. I just know you are :)Couple things could have happened (apart from lying or bad memory).one of them being that the phone monkey at the other end thought you wanted your vehicle address checked.who knows.
smac,
Mar 10, 11:48am
Ah but which address did you ask them to check!
sw20,
Mar 10, 3:05pm
I got a reminder sent to my parents address. I really better go and renew it.

I didn't mean postal and street, I meant driver licence or motor vehicle! Even if you did specify, perhaps they messed up. None of his changes what the system does and doesn't do now.

I must fess up - YES I got a reminder - it came about a month ago and is currently still buried somewhere on the dining room table.
Went to the AA this morning, to renew was all very painless - aside from coughing up the dosh of course!
