Hi does anyone have an idea of what this car would be worth i know they are not worth much but there isnt one on trademe the same shape to compare to. Its been stored in a shed unused for 15 years and we have just pulled it out to sell it. It is in very good condition with only 66000 miles on the clock it. I am guessing the motor size is 101ci and it has a 2 speed powerglide auto. The body is straight and rust free and the interior is like new apart from the stiching coming undone on the front bench seat. We were planning on putting it on trademe but ive had it sitting in my workshop for the last week getting it up to wof standard and we have had atleast 10 people tell us to give them a price as they want to buy it. It has a new wof and rego. Thanks

It was called the 101 because there were supposedly 101 improvements over the previous model!
Engine is probably 1600cc, which is slightly less than 100 cu. in.

2 speed auto, wouldnt set the world on fire, would gather speed eventually

In this day and age with all the cars available this car is worth exactly what someone will pay for it. put a figure in your head and ask the punters for offers, you can always say no and/or put it back in the shed for another 15 years. now is not a good time to realise the dream.

If the punters are that keen, get them to put in a sealed bid or guess what, try an auction! You can always set a high reserve and offer to highest bidder(s).

Not a car that appeals to me, but there aren't many around - but there never were many around!

Going on the ads for cars of similar vintage and type in the Classic Car and Classic Driver magazines I've looked at, should be worth somewhere around $3-4000 if it is as good as described, possibly more. These are pretty rare now

One here at Turners, was estimated at $2900

I worked on one of these many years ago for a friend, dont know what happened to it, was not a bad old car to work on or drive

In Australia, they filled a definate gap in the market, as GMH didn't have an equivalent Holden, in the 4 cylinder market at that time. Ford had several UK based models readily available, the Zephyr, Anglia, Prefect, and the new at the time Cortina. The first Torana, was of course a re-badged Vauxhall Viva, but
of the Toranas that followed, size wise they were much more closely aligned with the Victor 101. When released in October 1964, styling was very modern,
& radically different from the previous model. The slab styling, stayed in until about 1968, after that the boxy cars of that era, were giving way for the Coke bottle styling, more curves & interesting designs. However the 101 has
real character, in an age of mechanical simplicity, no design rules, or emission control, it's a nice & simple car, easy to work on, but not to sell.
There a just too few survivors around, & body parts are hence very scarce!
So don't run into anything!!
