i got a similar machine. You just have to use common sense the burner works like a central heating unit. a ignitor a pressure pump to pump diesel thru a nozzleand thats about it. ignitor is usually in front of the burners nozzle. check if it runs 24 volt or mains on burner circuit if its mains to power ignitor and burner then you got to be more carfull then if its DC voltage. and if it runs dc maybe the transformerrectifier is busted no power somwhere.

Mine was blue (could be cause it came from Lees Ford) and I think we ran it on 50/50 diesel and kero.Not sure but do you need a constant spark or will it keep running once it starts!It it keeps going you could start it with just about anything.
