6 x 9's Opinons?

Hey guys so my ICE needs a re vamp, I want to install some 6x9's boxed and run them through an amp. Haven't been on the market for stereo equipment for a number of years now so what type of speakers would you recommend! nothing over $300 would be nice, but I do want some that can perform. Cheers

Perform in what! Value for money, volume, quality, what sort of music do you listen to. You are a bit vague

I'm running some Infinity 6" rounds which cost about that, best speakers I've ever owned by a mile. I'm just running them straight off the head unit though.

Once out on the motorway I wound them up as loud as my eardrums could stand, and the only distortion was in my ears. Super super clear down at sensible levels, for my classical music that I'm usually listening to, too.

Perfomr in sound quality, volume etc, I listen to everything but mostly drum and bass/rock/dance

6x9= Cheap mans bass speaker

Haha nice,

They are going into a hatchback so you're thinking just putting them straight into the parcel tray! I may have to reinforce it to eliminate any rattles and stuff

I have a pair of 6x9's in my parcel tray,they sound GREAT & go all so hard.

If amped they would be much better.
No need for boxing them.

The max volume test was done playing some Underworld IIRC.

A set of speakers that will play that, the Missus' Jacko albums, my proper music and that Katy Perry sh!t that the kid listens to, without having to tweak any of the levels on the stereo is a pretty damn good set of speakers in my book!

box them

_peas, Mar 14, 8:07pm
Don't box them.As said they will sound great in the parcel tray. as long as they don't destroy it. they are fairly heavy for the thick card that they are usually made of.Prob don't even need to amp them if you got a decent 50w x4 head unit and aren't trying to deafen yourself.
