UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! LOL Well today was the day, took Ruby for a spin after having to jump start her, and she went likedream! didnt miss a beat idled perfectly and didnt even pig jump once! am absolutley stoked to pieces and must in a sense apologies to the mechanic who worked on her, seems hes done something right lol! even tho his last comments were to drive her and if she died again to take her back! Did a round trip of 30ks to check her out made hubby do the first 15 cos I was too chicken s%^& to lol, so will take her in for a warrant tomorrow and fingers crossed well be back on the road! Thought you all might like to hear the good news but if it hits the fan again will let you all no, many many many thank for your inputs!

Great news it's going again, love that feeling! But I have to disagree about the mechanic.he doesn't know what was wrong, he's made you pay to replace random parts until he has lucked onto the right one, and probably still doesn't know what was wrong, even though it's fixed. I certainly wouldn't sending any praise his way!
Now start selling the parts back to him one by one until you find the culprit!

smac lol if only I could! funnily enough I asked him for the parts hed taken out and he only had the points! I spose im just grateful to have her back on the road again, but I do agree it was more luck than expertise!

Just had a thought! did the mechanic put a little bit of grease on the rubbing block of the points,( on the dist cam)if he did not it won't belong before it starts to play up again.
