Im stuck between buying these 3 cars. What would you go for and what would be the better investment in the long run!

-1972 Mustang Grande - Recond engine, new carb etc 351 clevo. WOF/Reg
-1975 Mustang Ghia - 302, new radiator, carb, muffler etc. WOF/Reg
-1978 Chevy Camaro - 427 big block, needs vinning and new windscreen, runs and is mechanically fine.

Cheers :)

Costs would be relevant

trader127, Mar 15, 6:43pm
aah sorry

- $14000 for the the grande
- $14500 for the ghia
-$10000 for the camaro

I am a Ford man, but I would take the Camaro. Those 70's Mustangs are horrible

edangus, Mar 15, 6:46pm
Personally - 1st or 3rd.

berg, Mar 15, 6:47pm
My pick would be the Camaro. Neither of the two Mustangs are what you would cal "super collectible" and even the Chev has limited appeal.
Are you stuck on these or can you stretch to a more desirable model!

jjc09, Mar 15, 6:47pm
Camaro for sure they look good when they are mint

trader127, Mar 15, 6:50pm
mm yeah I like the camaro too! Yeah, I would prefer an eight cylinder, and preferably a 2 door coupe! I like the muscular stance of the camaro, and the engines quite strong. However in my price range, there are only more uglier mustangs and HQ's (not a bad thing in my eyes but too big body wise).

Camaro

jcwholesale, Mar 15, 6:59pm
Unusually biker I have to agreewith you.

jason18, Mar 15, 7:01pm
lol spot on!

quickstitch, Mar 15, 7:03pm
i'm a ford fan, but the chevy would be my pick.

stevo2, Mar 15, 7:04pm
camaro. 72 mustang a distant 2nd and the 75 not even in the race.
cheers stevo

I think they were working on proving the masturbation/blindness theory.
I'd go for the Chev. (Seems a bit pricey based on your limited description!)

smac, Mar 15, 7:08pm
1. Bit of a wannabe MKI but not too shabby. Wouldn't throw one away.
2. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth
3. Like a bad cliché borked a 70's sit-com and bred

franko171, Mar 15, 8:06pm
chev

cuda.340, Mar 15, 8:23pm
the 72 mustang grande, it's the closest to a real musclecar & is not laboured down with a ton of safety crap & a smog motor.

gunhand, Mar 15, 8:26pm
go the 75. ugly as it may be. But since no one wants them they will soon become very rare indeed. When was the last time anyone seen a tidy example. Or you could be part of the crowd and blend in withthe others.
Todays ugly is tomorrows money in the bank.
Happens all the time throughout the years.
Just my thought.

smac, Mar 16, 6:07am
Name something considered ugly at the time that is now considered a classic! (other than John Wayne)

sifty, Mar 16, 6:25am
Yep agree, close with the camaro though, only because it has a big block, but all mid - late 70's yanks are pretty horrible. Legislated until they are heavy, slow and none too pretty.

sifty, Mar 16, 6:26am
Helen Clark!

stephenb1, Mar 16, 9:48am
m8 i go for the 72 mustang .427 you spend a few grand and keept on spending.

fordboycraig, Mar 16, 9:58am
Hate to say it but both of those for Fords are butt ugly, but in all honesty I just couldn't recomend getting a chev either.

robyn2, Mar 16, 10:14am
I'd go for the 1972 mustang, it doesn't look that bad in the pics.

richardmayes, Mar 16, 10:54am
1972 Mustang Grande. Definitely one of the best looking out of all tough-guy V8s.

Out of the other two, Camaro wins 2nd place because of its outrageous styling. http://media.motortopia.com/files/3845/vehicle/46b2037185837/DSCF0006a.jpg
The 75 Mustang lust looks like a weak, watered-down copy of older Mustangs, lame.
