Whats a Vauxhell Chervet!

julian.walls, Jan 23, 10:14pm
you mean Vauxhall Chevette - have you tried Onehunga Wreckers they used have a lot of General Motors stuff!

mugenb20b, Jan 23, 10:44pm
That one's done the sighted world a favour.

richardmayes, Jan 23, 10:58pm
I still fondly remember Spences' Appliances blue & white signwritten Vauxhall Chevette (Note spelling) 3-door hatchback driving around Rotorua. in the 1990s.

sorry about the spelling but we aren't all clever in everything we do came on here to see if i could find a part not to get some smart remarks is that all some people have got to do with there time

skin1235, Jan 24, 3:52am
whats actually gone wrong with it annette, are the gears worn out or is the cable snapped

solarboy, Jan 24, 4:56am
Yeah, I'm bored so here's a capital S, C, and a "their" to replace "there". Oh, and a few ,,,,.- that should cover it.But seriously, I haven't seen a Chevette for decades, figured they must've all rusted away by now !

anita502, Jan 24, 1:38pm
HI skin1235It is the gears that are worn out do you know where i can find that part thanks .

gunhand, Jan 24, 4:07pm
I knew what car she meant before coming into the thread even. Car knowladge must not be your thing. Yes it was mistake but anyone who knows a small amount about cars knew what it was. Maybe your under 20.

807, Jan 25, 1:21am
I think andy61 knew what car she was talking about .He was taking the piss, obviously .

gunhand, Jan 25, 1:27am
Maybe, but why bother, mistakes happen and theres no use or benifit to point out a simple era. and we all know you can not alter the title of the thread.
Now if every secound word was wrong (like mine useually) and in txt jibberish
there might be a reason to comment.
May he who has not spelt a word wrong or a made a gramattical era (not sure if thats a word) cast the first stone.

It might be cheaper and easier to sort if you can get a whole door complete, I recall working on those in my motor trade days when these were new and the window winder units in them were sods to work on.
Not a bad wee runabout though done heaps of kms in them while with the local GM-H dealership.
Here's one with no engine you might be able to talk turkey with this seller!

If your Chevette is a 4 door one this one might be worth a crack for the whole , it's mighty cheap good for bits if you need em and there aren't a lot of them left available around the place now. Listing #: 442617359
GOOD LUCK Cheers.

Check out Aussie wreckers for Gemini or UK wreckers for Chevette. There's also a very active Vauxhall owners club in NZ - google it.

anita502, Jan 25, 4:27pm
made a mistake my car is a 2 door EMA1

sifty, Jan 25, 4:55pm
Oh ffs it's not hard to check spelling, and getting it right helps people know exactly what you are after without having to guess.
Plus, if you can't be bothered with details then you have no hope finding part numbers etc.

Not having a go, just saying a little effort on your part pays off when asking for help.

[edited because of spelling]

I think Vaux-hell is the special place you're in, when you're driving one.!

(Jokes - it's good to see another old car being kept alive!)
