Hey guys can I have an honest opinion on the value of this car.
2000 Mitzi Diamante elete wagon. Kiwi New 3.5 auto, Towbar, cruise, alloystravelled 245000kmCambelt done at 220k. Other than the K's its a really nice looking car. I just can'twork out what its worth and if that model is reliable enough with those K's to retail sell

danni_2254, Jan 26, 10:48pm
$1 reserve, market will decide.

foxdonut, Jan 26, 10:55pm
If I were a dealer, personallyI wouldn't put it on my lot.

1$ res on TM, no association, private sale, as is where is etc.

Probably worth a couple of grand(!)

phillip.weston, Jan 26, 10:58pm
$2000-3000. Not a bad car the NZ-new examples.

cocabowla, Jan 26, 11:14pm
why not put a "make an offer" sign on it and let a genuine buyer have it for what they offer . not that i'd want it but take my case where i'm terminal with cancer, own a 21 yr old car that costs 3 arms 2 legs in repair bills just to keep on the road. no one short of shark is going to finance the likes of us and when we scrimp & save trying to buy online its fighting amongst every tom dick & harry many of which are just out to "score " a deal and make money where some would just like some small comfort in their remaining life (or whatever circumstance that leaves them unable to afford finance etc ) .

theres no middle ground in car sales, either bargain basement through online or live auction houses or out of the reach for below average incomejoe bloggs yards.

danni_2254, Jan 26, 11:17pm
Just as bad as those auctions with $1 asking price.

danni_2254, Jan 26, 11:17pm
If I contact someone regarding a car and they say "make an offer" I walk away. Someone selling a car should have a price in mind, I don't waste time with people like that.

kazbanz, Jan 26, 11:18pm
Any specific issues with the 3.5 engine.!

cocabowla, Jan 26, 11:50pm
thats you, i ran a small secondhand shop and most often when they wanted to make an offer or i had it as "make an offer" i got more for it than the figure i had in mind.

danni_2254, Jan 26, 11:52pm
And thats quite obviously why people do it.

danni_2254, Jan 26, 11:53pm
However if you talk to most people here, They are against $1 asking price auction, complete waste of time.

i had an old statesman once and i had $4000 ono in the window and this islander came along and offered me $4500. WTF i thought . he said sowe misser dat all i can afford till nex week. haha ching ching i thought to myself. o okay i said that will have to do now be off with you ! you thick fob and all 20 of them jumped in the mighty statesman and cruised of into the night. never in my days of selling cars have i had an offer which was on the other side of of the asking price. i used to see themdriving thru stokesvalley and taita hanging out the windows and would laugh to myself for hours on end

kdcentralni, Jan 27, 1:17am
$2500 is that cars money IMO of coarse.

clark20, Jan 27, 1:21am
The motors OK , we had a work one with no problems. Went well.

msigg, Jan 27, 1:24am
$2600

n3d4sp3d, Jan 27, 1:36am
have you had the trans serviced they are prone to failing especially at that milage

loonee-dial-111, Jan 27, 1:52am
automatic, mitsubishi, 3.5L gas guzzler 245ks.
$2k

trdbzr, Jan 27, 2:09am
I'd say around the $2k-ish mark, but best to put it as $1 reserve. You might end up getting a lot more for it.

woki, Jan 27, 3:04am
If the trans dies or similar happens to it as usually happens with crudy Mitsi electronics, oooh and hi kms too, then its worth $200 as scrap .
Chances are the kind of buyer that will pay $3990 for it will have it back bleating and moaning cos his cuzzy just gave it a jump start cos the battery you sold with it was fkd and now it dont go at all and the disputes tribunal will be with him all the way
$1 reserve it as is where is , be grateful for what you get and save yourself the possible grief that goes with retailing dinosaurs !
Its a time bomb !

phillip.weston, Jan 27, 3:09am
Nothing really. Engine may get smokey at higher milage due to valve stem seals and possibly rings - but otherwise the 6G74 (especially SOHC) is quite a hardy motor. Transmission can be prone to shudder from the lock up clutch.

neville48, Jan 27, 4:09am
send it to turners auction house, at that kms and age its a problem that hasn't happened yet so you dont want to be involved when it does. If anything goes wrong with it ,its worth nothing but scrap.

tgray, Jan 27, 2:47pm
$2995. A NZ new car in great cond with a high level of spec and a new WOF has got to be worth that.

kazbanz, Feb 8, 2:07pm
Anyone wanna venture a bet on what it fetches!

jcwholesale, Feb 8, 2:12pm
I am with tgray on that one, good engine, trans is good, you would have no problems with it after sale. Sold plenty of high Diamante with no issues

modie61, Feb 8, 3:01pm
I will say $2500.
