Ahhh I love generic answers. Sometimes, you can easily more than double an installation cost due to parts. which is why its impossible to give an ACCURATE price till the year, make and model are known ;) If its an early 90's Legacy, chances are it will need a Subaru pocket and a 300mm aerial extension. If its a Windom, it needs a fitting kit, Toyota pocket and amp bypass
etc.
If you supplied your own stereo, the place I used to work at charged $85 If you bought a stereo in house, you got charged $50 for fitting it All plus the cost of any parts

Oh yeah the base installation price won't vary too much from place to place. but if any parts or additional work are required that base price goes right out the window. If it is for a Levin, its a 30 min job tops. A Toyota pocket may be required (not expensive). Do NOT buy a universal pocket, they aren't.

Err. no they don't. I'm yet to find a factory amp in any Levin (that I can remember)
The Windom has an amp under the passenger seat . maybe your thinking of the wrong car!

wow wtf!! I have been thinking about this today. and I have never seen a factory amp in a Levin. and I fitted stereos in a LOT of Levins.
As they say, ya learn something new every day. But they are no where near as common as r15 made out.
