i have a integra type-r, currently using a ugly black hose as breather pipe, as the factory breather pipe dosent not reach the aftermarket intake pipe inlet. i have found a silicon hose which looks a lot nicer and wanting to know if its suitable

It should be fine. It doesnt have to contend with much.

well considering you have oil vapour going through a breather pipe and they specifically say not for fuel and oil, I would imagine it will deteriorate over a period of time, probably swell and fail eventually.

It says not suitable for fuel or oil, Breather hose could be subjected to both, IMO not suitable

It wont really matter too much. It will deteriorate the same as a rubber hose. it wont matter to much if it does break anyway. as long as he seals the gap in the intake.

Thats overkill haha, but yes it will be fine! I'm using just plain silicone hose on my breathers (AutoBahn88 brand if you would rather source plain stuff) [edit] The hose I'm using has been there for 2ish years with no issue

wow alot of different replies here haha people saying use or not use. i do understand the basics as to not use for fuel/oil, but yeah how long will it take to ruin the hose! any other types of hoses out there that will look nicer/last long! i am using a water hose i think that i got from repco

If silicone is SO bad to use, why do they use silicone joiners on every induction kit or intercooler piping kit! Silicone joiners will see as much oil build up as the breather system. considering a breather vents back into the intake pipe. I'm yet to see anyone have an issue with a silicone joiner breaking down due to oil. Unless the car has some serious blow by, I don't see silicone hose doing anything bad - and if it did have blow by, long term degrading silicone is the last of your worries anyway.
Just an observation. feel free to put me in my place if you know more than I do :)
