i put a vl rb30e into my skylne rb20e thought looms would b the same but was wrong iv got both looms an put vl 1s in and seen they were missing sum wires mota tuurn ova but no spark .need help.

always use the loom that was in the car in the 1st place, put your rb20e loom onto the rb30e engine. I did same when going from rb25de to 25det in a c34.

the plugs that plug into the ecu on the skyline looms dnt plug into vl ecu so had 2 change them ova

friends conversion, we just bolted the whole intake manifold from the rb20e onto the rb30 and used the rb20 loom. used the rb20 alternator, starter motor, ps pump and dizzy. only prob we found was the ps pump needs modifying to fit. just some grinding. and there was a massive (42mm!) bolt in the exhaust manifold where the o2 sensor goes. otherwise was sweet. was running the rb20e ecu and injectors.
