1963 Commer Highwayman for restoration

kindl, Jun 17, 7:53pm
Hi, we have a 1963 Commer Highwayman classic car. It is very badly deteriorated, has been outside for over 20 years, not been driven for 12. The motor was ok when we last drove it, but the starter motor didn't work. Inside it is mouldy, rotten, not nice. Body needs work, some rust. Roof leaks badly. We would normally scrap it, if it wouldn't be the first ever factory made campervan apparently. We had it advertised on Waiheke Island, where we live, and a few people came round and said it is salvagable, but for one reason or other nobody wanted to tackle it. We transported it here on the back of a truck and this is probably what needs to happen again when she leaves.

I know it's worth something for scrap metal, and we have offers for that. But it is somewhat of a family pet, and because it is historic we were hoping somebody would restore it. Ideally we would like to every once in a while visit it, to see it being reborn. This is why I don't just want to do a 1$ listing.
Anybody interested!
