Me neither, but we can only guess which isn't ideal financially speaking. Best to take it to a garage and let them check it out.

Does the Legnum use a AFM!
Do you have an BOV that vents to atmosphere!

If 'yes' to both, fit a standard BOV and life should be peachy

@ andrea.i have after market bov GFB .again dont know alot wish i did lol.im guessing because its after market it vents into the atmosphere!.what is AFM cheers

Air flow meter its a clyinder type shape generaly behind the air box [or pod filter]in your intake arm . it will have one or two plugs comeing from it if you take the pod off and look down it will have hexagonal type mesh or a few thin course wires going right through it .

doh such a dick lol yup everything that is there everything is stock standard on it but the bov and exhaust .so you reckon putting a standard bov back on problem fixed yeah!

AFM = Air Flow Meter
I just had a look at VR4 pics and yes they do run an AFM
Some GFB BOV can be plumbed back - I know the Hybrid does!
There is a screw on top of your BOV, try tighten it
If that doesn't work, you need to fit the factory BOV

What happens is the AFM measures air thats coming in, a factory BOV recirculated the air back in to the intake (plumb back), when you fit a BOV that vents to atmosphere the measured air is now 'lost' and the ECU can't compensate. so you get slight backfiring (over fueling) and stalling when coming to a stop

@andrea wow cheers :).now why do you think all thebloody mechanics i have taken my car to with this problem couldnt tell me this lol.have i done damage to the motor! i did by the car with the bov already on it and protector didnt say i couldnt have it on but if its causing this i may have to get onto it asap .as i can see it now if car stuffs out i can see protector trying to wiggle out of fixing the motor .all insurances are good for that

andrea_w, Jun 24, 8:14pm
No problem :) Nah you won't have done any damage at all.

After tightening that screw, check to make sure the BOV opens properly. if you get a flutter noise its set too hard so back it off a bit. That flutter can ruin a turbo.
It may take a couple of attempts to set it correctly. but if you can't stop it stalling AND avoid the flutter noise, you will need a factory BOV.

ok cool so it just a matter of winding the screw in and then rev and listen and repeat till it sounds good.another thing i noticed with the bov is say car is not warmed up i may boost it but notice stuff all sound comes out of it .come to think of it .it may do it when its warm as well its never a consistent sound.as im typing this im now thinking a new bov ! cheers for help :)

dagon1, Jun 24, 8:24pm
will check this thread in the morning night all :)

andrea_w, Jun 25, 1:12pm
The amount of noise it makes will vary depending on the amount of boost. which varies with how hard you push your right foot down and the amount of revs. It's a little hard to diagnose that though going by what ya said (there may be no issue there to diagnose anyway)

dagon1, Jul 25, 1:45am
cheers again.yeah i am putting the foot right down which is bad im guessing when she is cold but i would think the bov should still make same consistent sound at what ever temp the motoris at.
