Leaves a bit of room for negotiation. I know when I have wanted to sell cars to dealers for a trade or straight sale over the years they typically offer 4 - 5k less than retail on cheaper cars than that.

A dealer must have a margin as they have to stand by the car if something fails on it soon after purchase. It doesn't take much to go wrong to blow a grand or more on repairs.

Oh, and I'm NOT a dealer but I have given a few plenty of my hard earned dosh over the years. Most of them have been a pleasure to deal with too.

The more you say the more you appear to be a dealer!

I know Scott and I can tell you that he is not a dealer. That car in question does have a large margin, but not quite the full $9k, they've probably had to spend a bit on re-con work. I too however think that the margin is a bit over the top.

Take it to Pukekohe racetrack and take a few pics, that's gotta make it worth heaps more!
