I agree with kaz, buy good leads, small cheap ones are pointless. Yes, jumper packs are very useful, esp when you're by yourself, but jumper leads are still very useful as well. They don't need to be kept charged, and they don't die the same.

You will wantat leasy 300 amps for starting. Give you an idea 10 amps from a 12 volt battery would equal 120 watts - volts multiplird by amps. so if you know the watts you are going to draw off the power supplt you will know the size of the jumper lead required. Generaly the wires required are never heavy enough. Confused!

No jump start packs are basically a battery with short jumper leads. Given the cig lighter runs off the battery, no benefit to having one over jumper leads - still need another car.
BTW, why do you need jumper leads, car not starting easily! Might just be new battery time instead.

If in doubt, get a bigger jump-start pack rather than a smaller one.
The starter motor will only draw as much current (number of Amps) as it needs, but if you offer it less Amps than it wants it won't crank very strongly.
(And get one that clamps to the battery terminals in the engine compartment, not the cigarette lighter.)
And if you have to regularly recharge your battery, you have an electrical fault. The fault might be an old fuxxored battery. Get a new battery, and if that doesn't fix it, get it to an auto electrician.
