Sealer tape for monsoons

pal18, Jun 17, 7:36pm
I have just bought a set of (2nd hand) monsoons for my car and need some of that black tape that sticks on to them to give the seal between them and the car door. Thanks in anticipation.

use the 3m stuff, or your monsoon will end up on the road at 100kph, and you can be 100% certain it will be run over by a truck before you get to pick it up if it landed semi safely

The one job we all hope someone lands.
It does need cleaning as kaz (sorry 'banz' too) sez, so you need some Grease & Wax remover, and a lot of careful patience. Take care if the visor has a black coating between the DST and plastic, as scratching through this will look fugly.
Definitely use 3M - a good visual ref is that 3M will have a red backing tape, whereas cheapo's are often green.
If you go to that link, you will probably need to specify 6mm and not the 20mm listed. Double check by measuring your old one.

Have refitted them with a fine bead of urethane before today. But that can be a messy exercise for a novice.

Thanks again, I have got the clips and have had a bit of a lookie to see how they fit, so will give it all a good clean (trip to auto shop for remover stuff) and line up everything slowly and hopefully will all go well :)
