Headlights from USA

jazzyjack1, Jun 17, 6:16pm
Can we buy headlights from USA and have them switched here!

bash, Jun 17, 6:20pm
no thy dip the wrong way

jazzyjack1, Jun 17, 6:23pm
But is there a way to fix it! (re align the lense!)

gammelvind, Jun 17, 6:24pm
Install them backwards

crzyhrse, Jun 17, 6:38pm
You idiot! They have to be installed upside down not backwards because they're from the northern hemisphere! If they're put in the wrong way the light will dip up instead of down!

But in all seriousness. if they're asymmetric they won't be compliant. But if they're symmetric then they'll be OK.

the dip to the left or right is in the pattern on the glass, you cannot change it.

Fixed

whynot7, Jun 17, 7:24pm
it depends wat they are for. my silverado had the original usa lights modified to pass a nz warrent.

jazzyjack1, Jun 17, 10:05pm
My headlights on the Grand Cherokee has scratches, crack and fade, want new ones and the US has them for $100 compared to here in NZ, so If I can find symmetric glass headlights I will be ok!

jazzyjack1, Jun 17, 10:06pm
So no mods or replacing the lights being imported straight from US! Compliance here passed it!

aktow, Jun 18, 12:48am
yes and my buddy camaro and chevy truck had a minor light adjustment and they both passed to be on nz roads.

I doubt you will find Symmetrical headlamps for the Cherokee. Maybe in the old sealed beam days. No, they are not technically legal, unless you mod them and then get a cert.
