Not looking to make my car look ridiculous like most people, just wanting to improve the dynamics and handling of it. Is adjustable suspension really worth it, what with all the hassle of certing it and the extra money you end up paying! Any advice appreciated. '93 Celica btw. Cheers.

How much money did toyota spend designing the suspension to make it last the last 18 years

lol, it's getting pretty old though, and doesn't sound or handle the best.

Stick with just replacement springs. Adjustable is great if you want to go track racing or want to go stupidly low to the point where you need to crab sideways over judger bars. For the cost of adjustable platforms and then $450-1000 for cert. a set of King super lows will drop it enough to look good and stiffen the ride with out breaking the bank

Yeah don't go adjustables for the road, maynot need super lows and in most cases lows is enough, don't get adjustables for the street because once you get cert the cert is only valid for the height its been certed for so legally you can't change it anyway. Kingsprings are the way to go, they make for a stiffer ride and less roll as the diameter of the spring is thicker the oem springs. Perhaps a set of twin tube gas shocks to go with that!. kybs will be fine

Do not get super low springs if you are just going to be driving on the road, might look good but the ride really suffers.

Ok, so sounds like springs it should be then. Can anyone recommend some good brands! And what about shocks (e.g. best performing type, brand etc.) Cheers again!

Jamex (search that under username on TM - he sells all makes) or Kings are also good price. But there are heaps of brands. Jamex, Kings, Lovells, just to name 3.the rest dont come to mind just yet. Any shock/spring shop will suss you out or if your good at it or got mates that arent dodgy, you can buy the springs and fit them yourself (much cheaper). Not sure of shocks, someone else can advise.

adjustable suspension if trackwork is your thing otherwise the cost of certing and buying the suspension is alot compared to a set of springs to hunker it down some.
then you probably find the shocks are rooted :)

Cheap springs and shocks, I can recommend Monroe from suspensiontech.Chris will look after you. No point in just doing coils if the shocks are worn out as well. Adjusables are good for the street and general driving. Increase in spring rate and shock rate will compliment the ride and performance.(if you want that). Dont need to go low and yes will need a basic $450 grade 1 cert. Bilstein shocks with king or jamex coilovers. These work very nice and Chris can custom make these at a very competitive cost,
