moosie_21, Jun 7, 5:25pm
Oh man this MB is starting to lose its appeal.

roys351, Jun 7, 5:32pm
i have to pay for my own boots no boss too pay for them and i am sick of so called good brands that i have to replace sooner than a pair of sandshoes

sr2, Jun 7, 5:32pm
LOL, not the most exciting question but the right MB to ask in. I like the Oliver brand, average price but comfortable and durable.

jezz43, Jun 7, 5:33pm
blundstone are pretty good, comfy as and better than the redbacks i used to use

http://www.blundstone.com/products/btough/

i use style 792, they are very easy to walk in as in my job im standing for 10 hours straight. plus they are pretty well made and keep nails and sharp blades from piercing the boot

taipan4, Jun 7, 5:40pm
blundstone elastic sided best by far

roys351, Jun 7, 5:48pm

been using schoen forestry boots, anything that will last in the bush for 6 months or more is doing ok, most of the local loggers use the same. about to get a pair of redwing forestry boots through levin timbersaws, have heard great reports on them. john bull and blundstone etc are a bit light in comparison, depends how they are used I suppose!

xacoon, Jun 7, 5:57pm
and its this thread that makes you say that!

gammelvind, Jun 7, 5:58pm
I get a great run out of my Oliver boots.

antwerp87, Jun 7, 6:03pm
I been using john bull only needed to replace them once in nearly 10 years

xacoon, Jun 7, 6:05pm
you're not working hard enough. actually 10 years ago they made ok boots, origin of manufacture is not as good as once was.

pig-gal, Jun 7, 7:55pm
I'm a farmer & are pretty hard on boots, if they last a year then they've done well. I've had Schoen, Blundstone, & John Bull & don't rate them. At the moment I have a pair of Steel Blue boots & they are great. They are over 2 yrs old & have still got plenty of life in them, they are also very comfortable & light . Can't speak highly enough of them really. Steve

yep farming is hard on boots. I had a pair of boots that would last me 12 months in the bush, had a pair lasted 5 years while I was farming, went back in the bush and they disintergrated within a month. yep farming is hard on boots haha

aktow, Jun 7, 9:19pm
i bought a steel cap boots from number1 shoe warehouse for $50 and they lasted me 14 months before they fell apart.i have had $220 boots fall apart after 6 months,it depends on how you treat your boots. mine got wet all the time and walking over damaged cars it was easy to get cuts in the boots

antwerp87, Jun 8, 9:38am
go get a pair of cats. see what ya think of them

crzyhrse, Jun 8, 9:48am
I'll tell you what I think of CATS. You're paying far too much for a brand perception.

pig-gal, Jun 8, 4:06pm
My co-worker had a pair of Cats - not for very long though!

I've has allsorts, at the moment im using Skellerup, very average. I prefered the blundstones over the red backs and john bulls but the best pair i've evr owned were Rossi's. Very expensive though.
I normally get 2 years out of a pair.
Cheers Stevo

roys351, Jun 8, 4:42pm
allready tried them they lasted ok but must of been the most uncomfortable boot ever for me

mk3zephyr, Jun 8, 4:58pm
Ive got Skellerup steel capped gumboots, so far so good

pieman33h, Jun 8, 5:31pm
def had a good run out of blundstone, though the last set i bought were mammoet boots made by bata, good boots, comfy from new. just about time for some new ones so am looking around too

for_an_angel, Jun 8, 5:59pm
I had John Bulls for years until they started only lasting 6 months then switched to Oliver. I replace my boots every year and the Oliver seem to last the distance. After a year most boots are stretched and become a very loose fit and cause I'm in them for 12-15 hours a day the sole is normally worn out from walking on concrete all day. The same went for the John Bull until the change of country. And the Oliver is only 2/3 the price
