It used to be by dollar balue, IIRC.
Not sure when they changed it, but I think it was before Shell was sold to Greenstone.
Were the sweets a Flybuys bonus! It's not unusual for them to offer things like that (or "buy three bottles of coke and get X Bonus FB points").

'Z' would get my custom if they accepted New World petrol discount vouchers.
FFS They are Fly Buys partners, it seem ludacrous that you get Fly Buys with your grocery purchase but then have to buy your petrol at BP.
