Class 2 HT licence and required medical.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what medical issues (mainly in the eye department in my case I think)would exclude you from being able to gain a class 2 ht licence. One of my rolls in life may soon require this for a new vehicle but I have some visual issues that, although they don't stop me getting a car licence, could be an issue with an HT licence.

Thanks

If you can get a car licence with your eye sight then you will be fine for class 2.Heart and blood pressure problems can hold you back apparently.

Cool thanks.

HT licence requires a medical cert from doctor, get medical and do eye test at doctors before you go for licence,

Your Doctor will give you an eye test with his Eye Chart and check your peripheral vision.

Had to go to optometrist so that I could get a car licence.

exactly the same piece of paper that your optomiterist gave you works for class 2 through 5

Every 10 years, just had mine done.
Funny thing is you dont need to prove you can drive every 10 years just that you are alive and fit to drive

Its because over time Land Transport NZ has noticed an increase in the causes of some accidents were Heart Attacks and Poor Vision etc.
If you have a heart attack while driving a large truck or bus you have a bloody good chance of massive destruction.

And make sure when you get a medical that your eyes water.
Prostate awareness - it's called.

whoops should have read that as well as your medical. for the test at the aa when licence is being processed you can take your optomiterists piece of paper.
