Need some advice as Im a bit of a novice. I've gotten hold of some good ole tridents for my HQ but they are off a valiant regal. Is it possible to get these reslotted to fit my HQ! and if so does anyone know a round about figure! Cheers

Try getting in touch with a Holden HQ website, or any Holden fan website in New Zealand.
They'll have some contacts for sure.

I've seen people using slotted mags, but never liked the idea myself. It's not too hard to find a set that fit the HQ right without slotting. Is the offset and fitment on the hub the same also! When I got a set for my HQ, I just kept an eye on TM until some correct fit ones came up, then bought them.It would probably be cheaper to get the right ones in the first place rather than modify something else.Good luck with the HQ, I sold mine about a year ago and still miss it sometimes! (had tridents on it :-)

Personally its much easier to use the right mags to begin with.

Yeah thanks for that extrayda, its actually a present for my dad's 70th. He had one back in the day and he used to take me to rugby in it when I was 5-6 years old. Was his pride and joy until some dickless prick stole it and wrote it off. We had no insurance so Dad was really gutted and always missed it. So my plan is to build one that was like his and give it to him in a years time, Cant wait!

Fair enough, I'll just have to wait it out until some come on here.

Thats a really cool project idea. While you are building it, make sure to get a decent alarm with imobiliser etc, there are still plenty of scumbags around the place. I hope you have found one without too much rust.Is it going to be a 6 or an 8!

Yeah I actually fluked it, my neighbour sold it to me, he just lost interest and had already had all the rust taken out. Gonna keep it all original and as a 6 when I give it to him but I know my dad will want to put a V8 in it so that can be a Grandfather, Father, son project. Be good for my boy to learn this stuff too.even if he is only 4 hahah

Good score by the sound of it.Body work is an expensive thing to do, and hard to do yourself.Mechanical stuff is much easier.Good luck with the tridents.I got mine polished/cleaned up by Arrow Wheels in Patiki Road. They did a damn good job, came up like new.

No I wish it was a 2 door, that would make it a monaro then wouldn't it! No its a 74 Kingswood, Light blue. If it was a monaro I wouldn't be giving that to him :P
