Proma MBL8 is just a temporary fix, much like adding a bottle of stop smoke to an engine that needs it's oil control rings replaced. The lifters DO need to be replaced as the oil feeds to them are undersized, causing damage to the lifters over time. Phil Weston can shed some more light on this I'm sure. 'Dumping' products in the oil is a band aid solution. It slows down or negates the problem for a period of time, but it sure doesn't fix it.

4G63 or 6A12/13! either one you can replace the lifters without removing the camshafts. You can buy revised lifters here on trademe with larger oil holes which are less prone to tapping.
I've had great success replacing the engine oil with 4-5L of diesel and letting idle for about 15-20 mins, then dumping the diesel and re-filling with cheap oil and filter, running that for about an hour or so of normal driving, then dumping that and refilling with a quality oil and filter. Tends to shut up the lifters which have been clattering away for years. The key is regular oil changes, as long as you service the engine when you should, the lifter should remain quiet.

Diesel! Never heard of that one, must have to give it a go, Would it also work on the SR20 engines as the oil holes are also small!

yeah I was a bit dubious until I tried it myself. It's important to ensure the engine speed doesn't go above idle. Diesel is a lubricant afterall, it just has good cleaning properties and in the case of Mitsubishi engines it is what is used to clean and prime the hydraulic lifters. Probably not a good idea to use it on worn out engines with oil pressure issues.

Do an oil + filter change and fill up with Castrol Magnatec. It does wonders for noisy lifters. It pretty much got rid of the tick in my VR4 6A12 turbo & my Audi 80E.
