1) Open your web browser to Google.

2) Type into the big white box thing: "NZ vehicle change of ownership"

3) Click on the 1st result.

4) Scroll a quarter of the way down.

5) Stare at the middle of your screen.

buyer. if selling make sure its done before handing vehicle over.
edit to say buyer must show id when changing vehicle into there name, and pay at that time. (when done at vtnz or post shop)

So its the buyer and $10 online. Thanks

phillip.weston, May 30, 7:27am
buyer, and $9.41. Can process it either at the post shop or online at http://www.nzta.govt.nz/transact/

Don't know about the legal aspect
The man with the most to lose should pay

flybye_in_a_rx7, May 30, 8:41am
doesnt really matter. but sellers responsibility to ensure its done. i never sell a vehicle without this been done. either get them to do it on the internet with you or go to the post shop with them

crzyhrse, May 30, 8:51am
That would be the seller. ut there's not actual legal requirement as to who should pay - only who must conduct the transaction.

richynuts, May 30, 9:40am
Buyers responsibility to pay as buyer needs to have their drivers licence present at time of change.Though I have often handed buyer $10 to make sure he gets his sorry arse down topost shop to do change asap! Have also used my credit card (and computer) to do online change if the new owner does not have a card.

No, it's really not, a reasonable question would be something difficult to find out, not something like this.

ashwattau, May 30, 1:24pm
All I'm trying to point out is that most people who end up posting questions on here, could, if they only switched on their brains for one second, have found out the answer to their question themselves (in a fraction of the time) that it ever took them to come on here, type a question, then wait 5, 10, 15, maybe 20 minutes before somebody comes along to dish out a response, (which may or may even not be correct in the first place).

If for some reason you take offense to my subtle "hinting", or "encouragement" to get people thinking using their own brains, well then that's your problem to be frank. And what's more, I don't see why you feel the need to run around calling people "wankers", and "dickheads".

crzyhrse, May 30, 2:11pm
You clearly think far too highly of the average poster here. They have a brain to switch on! Yeah, right!
